In the Ayurvedic model, food is seen as superior medicine. 95% of disease- related genes can be up-regulated or down-regulated through proper management of diet, digestion, lifestyle, behaviour, stress and environmental factors.

The majority of diseases begin in the digestive tract, making food our first medicine and the digestive tract the Master System of the body. Our health is deeply affected by our digestion and metabolic processes. Chronic digestive symptoms are seen as the precursor to more severe chronic diseases and a lowering of our health span.

Why Add a Cleanse

All natural healing systems share the practice of “cleansing, purifying, detoxifying or purging” the body from the build up of emotional, metabolic and environmental toxins. Over time, our digestion and metabolism become impaired and slow down, leading to poorer quality health.

During the cleanse part of your plan, you will eat a diet of Kitchari, which is the preferred food to use when fasting on a mono-diet. Its an excellent food for detoxification and renewal of the cells. This food pulls toxins from your body and is extremely healing to your digestive tract and intestinal mucosa.
