Eleni Tsikrikas
Ayurvedic Practitioner
I am a seasoned Ayurvedic Healer and Educator.
I believe that food is First Medicine and Ayurveda is the complete compendium of individualised self care practices.
I have been a seeker since a young age. My journey began with the death of my sister from a food related illness and surgery complications when I was 20. Initially I focused on dieting and vigorous exercise as self care. Then I discovered Yoga, which gave me a body positive message and improved my self esteem. In 1996 I completed the renowned Sydney Yoga Centre’s teacher training course and after an existential crisis, I quit the legal profession in 1999 and followed my dream to teach Yoga full time.
In 2004, I ventured to Los Angeles and began intensive study with Robert J. Birnberg, a senior student in the Krishnamacharya Lineage. The central focus of my studies was the Yoga Sutras off Patanjali, the planet’s first Spiritual Psychology text and Yoga Therapy manual.
This led me to study Ayurveda at the Californian College Of Ayurveda…and it was love at first class. I pursued my Ayurvedic studies with a passion for several years, adding more and more education in cleansing, herbalism, body work and yoga. A lifelong student, I am devoted to my studies in Ayurveda as part of my personal practice and growth. I believe that the secret to freedom lies in educating people
I hold certifications as a Clinical Ayurvedic Practitioner, Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist, Western herbalist and Yoga Teacher. For over a decade, I was a faculty member at the California College of Ayurveda where I taught and mentored students. I have also taught at Loyola Marymount University’s Yoga Therapy and Ayurvedic program for over five years, and my own Belly Mind Institute was an approved school with the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) in the USA.
I run a private Ayurveda Practice in Sydney where I offer instructional programs and work one to one with clients supporting them to live a balanced life.
The essence of our work together is to cultivate a heart to heat connection. This is fertile soil for growing the trust required to implement new habits, behaviours and practices essential for your healing.
I will continue to support and cheer you on in your new relationships with food, herbs, movement, and lifestyle. This is the true Ayurvedic path to increased health, boundless vitality, and more sustained joy.
